Who runs the program
The program is run by Detroit Web Agent, 15121 Kercheval Ave, Grosse Pointe Park, MI 48230 ("DWA", "we", "us"). "Referrer" means the person or business sharing a referral link or code. "Referred business" means the business that uses it.
Who can take part
- Clients: any business with an active DWA account in good standing.
- Partners: accountants, insurance agents, suppliers, manufacturer reps and similar professionals who are not DWA clients and who we've approved as partners.
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. DWA's owner and anyone acting on DWA's behalf can't earn rewards.
What counts as a referral
A referral qualifies only when all of these are true:
- The referred business uses your link or code when it signs up.
- It is a new business to DWA: never a DWA client before and not already talking with us about a project.
- It pays its first invoice in full.
If two people refer the same business, the first valid link or code used at sign-up counts.
The referred business's discount
A referred business gets $100 off its website build. If it isn't getting a build, the $100 comes off its first monthly bill instead. One discount per business. It can't be combined with another referral discount and has no cash value.
Client rewards
- For each qualifying referral, you get account credit equal to one month of one add-on of your choice, worth $39 to $199. You pick the add-on in the Client Hub.
- At most 6 client rewards in any rolling 12 months.
- It is account credit, not cash. It has no cash value, can't be transferred or sold, and expires if your account closes.
Partner rewards
- $250 when a referred business pays $499 or more in total within its first 90 days, such as a website build or a plan's second paid month.
- On smaller services, 20% of the referred business's first paid invoice, up to $100.
- Paid by check or ACH after the qualifying payment clears and we have your completed W-9.
- We issue a Form 1099-NEC where the IRS requires one. You are responsible for your own taxes.
Timing
Client credit is issued automatically after the referred business's first paid invoice. Partner payouts are sent within 30 days of approval, and approval requires a W-9 on file.
No self-dealing
You can't earn a reward for referring yourself. No reward is paid when the referrer and the referred business share an owner, email address, website domain, phone number, address, payment card or Stripe account.
Refunds, chargebacks and abuse
If the referred business's qualifying payment is refunded or charged back, the reward is reversed. Credit already applied may be charged back to your account, and a partner fee already paid may be deducted from a later payout.
We review referrals and may flag, hold or withhold a reward where we see signs of abuse, such as fake businesses, spam, misleading ads or bidding on our name. We'll tell you if a reward is withheld and why.
Telling people you may earn a reward
If you post, advertise or write publicly about Detroit Web Agent, you must clearly say that you may earn a reward for referrals, for example: "I may earn a referral reward from Detroit Web Agent." Put it next to the link, not in fine print. This follows the FTC's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255).
Don't make claims about DWA's results or prices that aren't on our website. Don't send spam or texts to people who haven't agreed to receive them.
Changes and ending the program
We can change or end the program at any time by updating this page. Rewards earned before a change takes effect are honored under the terms that applied when they were earned.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
